Vanille

Very nice fragrance. Smells like a vanilla cupcake. Yummy.

Vanilla is one of my very favorite scents. It can be very monotonal or multidimensional depending on the raw materials. The description of this scent sounds divine, alluding to both the gourmand and sensual aspects of vanilla. The notes described are very accurate for what I experience when wearing this perfume. I do love it. I mean, it is vanilla after all. Yet, it's not too predictable. The floral vanilla open is clearly distinct from the soft sweet vanilla powdery-ness that left's clinging to the skin after hours of wear. The transition through the heart starting like an ordinary garden hose with a huge bulging and round balloon center before graduating back down to the same size of hose at the start, all the while managing to remain believable and not too big as to be ridiculous and full of itself. This scent could have been named differently, but this one is upfront and unashamed. For both it's simplicity and it's complexity, Vanille is very well and delicately done by a consummate expert of olfactive composition in a field full of obvious, monotonal amateurs who can only aspire to her shining example. I'd give it 4.5/5 stars total. It's still not the perfect vanilla scent for me but I'm probably looking for something that won't ever exist in my lifetime.
