Wonderful scent. Could easily be unisex though to my nose it’s very masculine leaning. When layered with something floral or sweet it is really really nice!

Parfums de Marly are renowned for a good reason: quality and superb blends. Kalan is no exception. You won't find the masculine cliches of boring aquatics, or the brute leathers and musk. The opening is complex, the blood orange, lavender, moss and orange blossom uplifts the heavier bottom notes from feeling too warm, yet still masculine. The black pepper/ spices and patchouli don't make this blend feel overwhelmingly "oriental", this isn't a "spicy" parfum. The cashmere adds warmth and brings out the sweetness of patchouli and tonka. The sandalwood and amber bring the final touch to ground the fragrance and add dimension to the composition. The drydown is warm with a touch of subtle spice akin to tobacco leaf.
Long lasting, 5+ hours, projects and lingers in the air, a little does so much! Kalan is versatile, as a cool weather scent, date night, special occasion, a statement to top off an outfit. A real winner for the person who isn't afraid to be noticed upon arrival.

Parfums De Marly quality is outstanding, this is a well blended, high quality. Longevity and projection are above average, but not over powering. Different from others from collection. A bit more heavier.
