I don't think this is going to win any awards or knock fragrance people off their feet, but I really like this. I am a fan of the original Varvatos scent which is a very dry iris, fig, and slightly citric scent that can be soft and powdery for casual wear in professional environments. It is humble and light but still clean and refined. This Artisan edition takes that original DNA and adds huge amounts of citrus (orange, bergamot, lemon), and lavender. It is a little more boosy without being vastly more sweet than the original, I think there is a strawberry scent in there to achieve this. There are some hints of green notes and tobacco leaf buried deep down which really elevate this beyond a mere flanker. These scents are not huge projectors (which I am glad) but they do last and hover for 6-8 hours, and do not come off as synthetic. Some have compared this to Neroli Woods by Banana Republic, and I couldn't disagree more. The latter is far more neroli/fig-focused and sweet.
